WhatsApp is one of the most secure communication services and the desktop version may soon become even more secure. Data from the latest beta version suggests that WhatsApp Web may be equipped with the biometric security of a fingerprint scanner.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp Web expects a major security improvement. Version 2.20.200.10 will enable the use of a fingerprint scanner during the creation of a new WhatsApp Web session.

Currently, WhatsApp Web requires scanning a QR code to do conversations from phone to computer. In this case you verify that your phone is connected to your WhatsApp account. To do this you had to open the phone camera and scan the QR code on the computer screen. Although the procedure in question is not difficult, it is not so practical.

The update in question may replace the QR code with the fingerprint scanner. Not only is the scanner faster but also safer. There is currently no information on when the new option will be available.
